zahara conceived the affinity for water at the end of her fourth former year. as of right now, her control over water is limited at best. only small things tend to be capable of being produced, maybe a bit of water lifting up, slicking the water off her clothes. nothing overly complex as of now, she's still working with it. and will be especially diligent during the break between her fourth and fifth former year.

OKAY, WHY DON'T YOU TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR FABULOUS SELF?
ahh, to describe zahara... she's one of those overly-excited, bubbly kinds of girls. she's the definition of optimism, almost to the point of being incapable of sadness. though she definitely is, no doubt about that. most of the time, she's always bouncing around as though there is something to discover or enjoy, generally both at the same time. and she enjoys any kind of adventure that would lead to such things. on a less noticeable note, there is almost always and unperceived sadness to her, as though everything she does or feels or witnesses is in direct communication to something negative for her. she does her best not to show this, because it is in fact true. she has an underlying sadness to most things and tries to hide behind her happy demeanor. not that that is hard, she enjoys smiling and trying to make others do so, it seems to lighten her heart from the less satisfactory feeling of sadness.
beyond those most obvious traits, zahara is easily capable of adjusting herself to most situations, generally looking at them with her heart rather than her brain so the reactions which are portrayed tend to be emotionally irrational, impulsive, and stubbornly determined. she follows her gut instinct and heart's reaction, just letting herself flow in situations. kinda like water. and to top it off, she's a free-spirit and rarely allows herself to become emotionally attached to people, she likes to express herself and run around, but being attached almost makes her feel caged and it's a feeling she does not relish. to be honest, she doesn't much understand the meaning strings and family ties, independence and freedom to breathe have always been the center of her world. she has friends, she has family, but she doesn't let their attachment to her hold her back from what ever she decides to do. it's almost selfish and uncaring in a way.
INTERESTING. AND WHAT ABOUT YOUR FAMILY LIFE?
most of her history is somewhat fuzzy, she remembers only so much of it..
zahara was born in the gobi desert, her parents the owners of a camel herd, living in a village oasis. she was raised in the traditional way of an arabic woman, tending the home, the children, the food. she had always ached for something more however. the tamed life of a caged woman was never enough for her, she had dreams and wants, but simply lacked the courage to do anything about her situation. she learned much in that little village, how to care for a home of course, but also in her free-time she watched the lives of the men, listened to them speak in their tongue and learned the happenings of the worlds. being female however, and her family was very strict on old tradition, she had no say in any conversations, nor was she often allowed to speak in the presence of a man unless she was spoken to.
that all changed however, her lifestyle, her home. when a particularly large sandstorm buried the oasis and drove her family to a large city, it was days upon days of journeying until they reached it. during that sandstorm a tragedy befell zahara, she fell onto a large rock, knocking her unconscious and taking several memories of her past. the fall caused this and in turn also allowed her personality to alter. after the fall she became more rebellious and dreamed much bigger than simply escaping. in the city, her father remembered the telling of the 'american dream' and aspired to take his family, the small family it was, to the americas. he sold everything that they owned so that they could possibly go to the new country. they didn't have enough money even with that selling.. but somehow, and zahara has no idea, they came up with the needed amount and were america bound.
====time lapse=====
approx. five years after such occurred, the family ended up in a rundown building just outside of chicago. zahara was almost thirteen. she learned then of the vampyre and fledgling world which had been all over the earth, and yet she had never known. she grew with a fascination for the forbidden realm which her father dared not let her entertain ideas for, and eventually she sought to break free of her father's control. she had always dreamed of such a freedom, but had never been granted such. as a bubbly child, the lack of freedom did nothing to calm her soul, if anything it only strove to make it more so. because she so dreamed of the independence. and one year she got it.
after turning fifteen, she was marked by a tracker. and not a normal mark. it was red. when she went home, her father freaked out on her.. said something about Allah and hell and fire. and he forbade her company in his presence and that of her younger siblings. however, he did allow for her mother and elder brother to offer their condolences and bid her farewell to the CHON. they did not aid her, she walked happily, she would not have asked for help in any case, in fact, she scorned such necessities. she was her own woman then.
her first year went well, she studied, did her work, learned and grew. she became accustomed to the oddity that she was. a red fledgling and therefore living a very different life from most of the others. her hunger for blood and carnivorous ways almost getting the better of her several times throughout the first year. but she didn't let it defeat her, and often sought the company of Nyx in her temple and the numerous teachers to guide her during her learning curve.
it wasn't until her fourth former year, the middle of it actually, that she became owned. yes, owned. the small, attention sucking, demanding little eight month old tortoiseshell kitten claimed her as his very own. and set about to make her life his. she has since found his company most endearing.. most of the time anyway. she named him the arabic word for fate, believing it to have been Nyx's will that all should have transpired. and so 'fate' seemed very appropriate.
SO NOW IT'S A LITTLE MORE PERSONAL!
