Personality: Anna Lou Moore, your average teenage werecat fledgling, with a few slight tweaks that separate her from the rest. Her ability to shift into a cat is not only physical, but also mental; meaning she takes on a few of the species' characteristics. She is a generally friendly and happy person, though others might be oblivious to this as she is somewhat reserved. Like most leopards, she is solitary by nature. She is occasionally willing to come out of her shell, but most of the time prefers her independence. Due to her somewhat feral nature, Anna doesn't fully understand how people think, and is often times confused about certain situations, and likely has to have them explained to her. However, Anna will speak her opinion without question when it is necessary, and can be rather bold. She walks with confidence, which is often mistaken for arrogance.
She does not like to be held back, or told what to do. Stubborn is one of her obvious traits. She also has authority issues, and can't stand liars or cheats. Anna is definitely the kind of person to hold a grudge. Once you do her wrong, it won't go away. She might not vocalize the thought, but it will always be in the back of her mind. Anna is very competitive as well as protective, and can be rather crude at times. Though she might lash out, she tries to keep her conflicts to herself. Her instincts are very animalistic, and she practically lives by 'survival of the fittest.' She tends to communicate through body language and facial expressions, as she is rather awkward with small talk. Or talk of any kind, really; and even more coarse when someone tries to break the touch barrier.
Likes: old movies, wilderness, camping, independence, food, sushi, sarcasm, winning, animals, night time, sun, hunting, protecting, competition, warm weather
Dislikes: losing, public restrooms, microwaves, liars, fakes, bugs, open water like oceans, being underestimated, cigarette smoke, cold weather, snow
Fears: being caged; not finding a vampyre to protect, or not being able to protect them if she finds one; as much as she cares for nyx, she also fears what the goddess is capable of
Powers:
Leopard Being a werecat, Anna can physically change into a leopard. The actual shift takes about ten to twenty seconds, in which her clothes usually rip as her body, bones, and exterior change. As she gains experience, the time it takes to shift will speed up. It is painful, as her bones are rearranging themselves, however there is usually a surge of adrenaline the numbs the pain to an extent. She is considerably smaller than the average leopard, and her fur is slightly thicker. Her fur is normal, and has the usual warm hues and black spots. Anna has bold facial markings, around her eyes mostly. Like her facial markings, the various spots that cover her body are also bold, and very black. Her tattoos are not visible when she is in her leopard form. Due the area the House of Night is placed at, her fur thins in the summer, and thickens only slightly in the winter. She also has a very strong scent, that other animals can sense. Prey animals generally flee when they sense it.
Her senses are enhanced in either form, but are much more refined in her leopard form. Anna's dominant sense is her sense of smell. Sometimes it's a bother, but other times it comes in quite handy. Her sense of smell is so sensitive that she can smell disease and decay in footprints left in the snow by prey. Though poor in comparison to her other senses, and somewhat blurry, Anna's eyesight is good at night, allowing her to pick up movement. Leopards are tremendous stalk and ambush predators. They rely on stealth to sneak up to the prey before going in for the kill. Anna won't be able to accomplish such feats and skill in stealth until she is more experienced, unless fueled by a surge of emotion like fear or anger.
Anna's relation to the leopard is not only physical, but mental and emotional as well. Her instincts are stronger than a human's, and are quite feral. Because of her catlike mindset, she doesn't look for a mate; as much as some to mate with. Leopards are very solitary in nature, and only pair during breeding season. Like female leopards, she has a gestation period, which lasts two to three days every three to seven weeks. During this period, her feral side tends to quell her human emotions. Anna tends to act more dominant around females, and her scent changes everso slightly. She is generally more mouthy, as well as daring and rebellious. She doesn't mean for these side effects to show, and attempts to control them. Seeing her growling at people around this time isn't rare. After Anna shifts back into her human form, she is usually very hungry. For some reason, her metabolism is faster when in her leopard form, and she tends to burn more energy. The longer that Anna is in her leopard form, the more feral her instincts get.
Intuition Anna has something the vamypres would explain only as heightened intuition. It is based somewhat off of her feral instincts, and it has been in question as to whether or not she has precognitive abilities. At random times, it's as if Anna can sense what is going to happen. This would be extremely helpful if she were to ever get into a fight, because she would be able to sense the next attack. She doesn't have visions or anything, rather, it's just a gut feeling that someone is going to hit her, so she should duck. Also, if she is talking to someone and they are lying, there is a chance that she will notice, much like adult vampyres do. This so called affinity, is still in debate. Either way, Anna will have to gain experience and learn how to trust herself and her reflexes. Doing so won't be easy.
History:
Anna Lou Moore, born to Dale and Christine Moore on October 7th, 1996. The couple was ecstatic to have a child, and spent most of their time focused on her. They raised her with a normal childhood, in Olympia, Washington. It was cold and wet, but it didn't seem to bother anyone in the family. The usual liveliness of their home seemed to evaporate, and became quiet as Anna grew. She found herself spending more time off on her own instead of with her parents. In junior high she started to play volleyball, and seemed to excel at it despite her size. She had hops, which gave her a definite advantage.
She continued to grow, eventually growing out of the sport, and started to focus more on her grades. Studying and homework wasn't really her thing, instead she managed to improvise. It doesn't work for everyone, but it worked for her. One day, when she was at school, she was called down to the office. The principal greeted her with a hand on her shoulder and a frown. She said she was sorry, and Anna assumed she had gotten a bad grade, or that they couldn't find the ipod she had told them to look out for. Instead, the principal told Anna to come with her, and ended up dropping her off at her house. She was obviously angered, because the principal wouldn't answer any of her questions. So she jumped out of the car, making sure to slam the door, and went inside.
There, she found her mother curled up in a ball, crying. She explained that her father had something happen to him at work, and that he had to go to the hospital. She said he wasn't coming back. Anna didn't cry; not yet anyway. She simply stared at her mother, and then calmly walked out of the room. She went in her backyard and sat shortly, before breaking down. The whole thing took a tole on her, though she eventually went on and started going back to school and doing the normal things a teen would do.
One night, Anna found herself at a party. It wasn't unusual, she seemed to attend at least one every weekend. It was about one in the morning, and she got the sudden urge to take a walk. For no particular reason, just to get some fresh air and get away from all the annoying people and music. All the people and the loud music always seemed to irritate her when she was drunk. So, she staggered outside, using the chain link fences lined up along the houses to keep her balance. Her vision was blurry, but the cool wind felt nice. Glancing back, she did a double take, making her feel even more woozy. A man was following her. So she started to run. She looked ridiculous, stumbling along the fence. If she were sober, she would think about all the klutzy girls in horror films that managed to fall so that whatever psychotic nut was following them got a chance to get - and eventually kill - them. Promising herself not to end up like them, she glanced back. Continuing on, she reached to grab the fence, but her grip disappeared. I'm going to die, she thought to herself as she lost her balance. Too drunk to have any reflexes whatsoever, she fell, knocking her head straight onto the sidewalk.
She woke up at the Washington House of Night, and discovered that it was a tracker who had been following her, not a psycho. As she sat up, she felt a sharp pain run through her spine. The woman that suddenly appeared told her to lay back, and so Anna did. Still dizzy, and rolling in and out of consciousness, the woman told her that she was going to be sent to a House of Night that had vampyres that could heal, with her mother's consent and all. Anna couldn't make any sense of it, and it all just made her brain hurt. So, she let herself slip into a peaceful sleep. Her mother made arrangements, seeing as one of her old friends lived in Chicago, and eventually they made it. Anna awoke with a start, feeling much better, though a little strange. She was confused on what was going on. A woman, different than last time, explained everything.
So, now she lives here at the Chicago House of Night. Her personality changed completely once she was marked, and now has feral aspects. Her entire third former year was mostly just adjusting to all the change. And then, there's now.[THE PUPPETEER]
