A year ago, Buffy Summers was dragged out of heaven and back to a harsh, bright world by her friends.
A year ago, the Sailor Senshi were dragged from their fight with Galaxia across continents to Sunnydale, California by an unknown force.
A year ago, the First Evil returned.
While it had been Willow's spell, reviving Buffy, that had brought the Senshi to Sunnydale as an unexpected side effect, the First used this to its advantage. It orchestrated events, from Angel's soul being removed, Angelus wreaking havoc on the town once again, torturing his friends and losing their trust, causing vampires to be created from the Senshi and lives to fall apart. At the death of her girlfriend, Willow turned dark and also tortured the people she once loved, while Galaxia opened the Hellmouth and released Chaos from her. It was a great battle. Lives were lost, alliances formed and broken, but eventually good won out over evil, destroying Sunnydale in the process. Everyone was saved, but at great cost.
It is a year later, now, and the Sailor Senshi are still powerless, the power of their Sailor Crystals used up to destroy Sunnydale and revive those friends who had fallen. Angel Investigations has reunited, joining forces with the remnants of the Scooby Gang; Angel is ensouled once more, though he is no longer the leader - that honour falls to Wesley. The majority of the Senshi returned home to Tokyo, though still keeping in touch with the friends they had made, and it seems like for once, good really has won. Things are peaceful, with even the population of vampires seeming to have decreased, and everyone is free to live normal, happy lives for the first time in a very long while.
But there is a balance in the world, and good must always be countered by bad, or this balance is upset and things can be thrown into chaos. There are consequences to a world without evil, and everyone is about to feel them; they can't become complacent. Will they be ready?
