Fifty years ago an epic battle between the defenders of light and the forces of darkness took place. It was the battle to end all battles and to restore peace and balance among the worlds that had been lost to the darkness for so long. The battle raged for quite some time with heavy casualties on both sides before Sora and the other warriors of Light defeated their foes once and for all.
For the first time in years the demand for heroes drastically decreased, the galaxy was safe and the darkness was kept at bay. Sora and the gang were finally able to return to their respective homes and get on with their lives; finishing school, getting careers, and starting families of their own. Their adventures and exploits became nothing more than memories, tales that the elderly told to their grandchildren, eager for an exciting bedtime story.
The children and grandchildren of the original heroes grew up in a world where The Darkness was nothing more than a tale told by their grandparents to ensure that they didn't misbehave. Everyone lived under a false sense of security, believing that they were safe and nothing could touch them.
However, just because the Darkness hasn't been present in the lives of most doesn't mean that it's the same for elsewhere in the galaxy. One particular world became overrun with Heartless and was thus quarantined.
The past is repeating itself and it's now up to a new slew of Keybearers to venture off and save the galaxy from the threat of the Darkness. But with no prior training or knowledge of the Darkness and the foes that lie within it, how will they fare?

Will they make it to the final distance? Or die trying?
