my hips they lie
cause in reality, i'm shy shy shy
the night had passed quickly. too quickly, in fact. the sun had started to rise and yet, anna lay wide awake. with a groan, she rolled out of bed. wasting time trying to make myself fall asleep is pointless, she thought heavily. rubbing her eyes, she made her way into the bathroom. she questioned whether or not she should head out to the mall or go visit her mom. anna shrugged, and switched off the light. she could hear distant snores, though she was quite the loner, and couldn't recognize any of the muffled sounds. smiling, she bent down and began to rummage through her closet, before pulling out a pair of old boots. she had asked her mom to buy her some once she realized that there were horses on campus, but christine gave her a pair of her own instead.
anna slipped on a pair of high waisted shorts before pulling on each boot, followed by a simple, over sized, red flannel. she tucked in the flannel a tad bit in the front, and left the first couple buttons unbuttoned. heading towards the door, anna paused, one brow raised, before walking into the bathroom. she grabbed a rubber band and started to put her hair into a messy bun, but decided she didn't like it and left it down. sooner than later, she was out the door, down the stairs, and in the kitchen. she grabbed an apple and a few carrots, and was on her way.
as she stepped out of the girl's dorms, she felt a shiver go down her spine. "huh," she thought out loud. anna didn't like the cold. she preferred the warmth of the sun. shaking the weird feeling, she started toward the stables. anna wasn't exactly sure how this was going to go. she wasn't like normal werecats. not only was her connection to leopards physical, but also mental and emotional. she had the scent of a predator, and anna assumed the horses wouldn't take much of a liking to it.
as she arrived at the stables, she paused, glancing around. the sun was still rising, and it was pretty bright outside. to her surprise, it hadn't really bothered her. normally it did. but then again, normally she was asleep at this hour. at least i know everyone else is asleep, she thought. anna preferred being alone. she was solitary in nature. with another shrug she made her way into the stables. she heard a few horses huff, and kick at the ground. anna made her way to the tack room and grabbed a brush, then walked over to a stall. the horses name was printed by the entrance. apedille, hm? she slipped into the stall and the horse immediately seemed on edge. anna inched forward, apple in hand, and offered it to her. "i know you think i'm gonna hurt you, but i promise i'm not going to.." apedille took her time, and decided that anna was okay, for now at least, and ate the apple quickly. anna put her arm forward and said, "okay, apedille, now i'm gonna brush you. don't kick me," the last part was somewhat of a sarcastic plead. she felt the horse tense under her touch, but continued to brush in peace.
