It was a quiet morning with the stars out, school had been finished for an hour now and right after school Aphrodite had left class and came to the back of the school alone. Today was practice day the day she would practice her earth affinity trying to gain enough strength to be able to protect her home and the people who dwelled within it. Since becoming a high priestess in training Aphrodite was obsessed with doing the right thing, she volunteered her time to council those who were close to people who didn’t make the change and then she had the dark daughters sorting out events just for the private group and then organizing ones for the school too, not to mention helping out in the infirmary than school work on top of that it was all too intense.

Aphrodite had specially made time for affinity practice; because something was coming she knew it. Lately there has been talk of war mostly from the People of faith, and that had worried her it had worried her so much that she had decided to train herself to do something massive with her affinity over earth…to create a protective dome of earth to protect the school if those anti vampyre freaks did decide to do something stupid. She knew that she didn’t have to worry the high priestess had called the warriors to the school, but still If Estelle is doing something to help make the school safer than so should i…its my duty as the high priestess in training[/i] She thought to herself.

Aphrodite had panted as she perspired she had tried for the last hour to make this wall. Shadow her faithful guard dog had stood by her the entire time, what could be said about shadow…even though she just met the dog a few days ago she loved shadow just as much as Kenny-ray the cat that had chosen her. She panted a little more “Earth I know that you’re a powerful element…we are buds right, well I need your strength…please help me…follow my will and together we can protect everyone.” She spoke panting out like she just did a cross marathon sprint. A moment later Aphrodite had felt the warmth of earth surround her as her hands glowed green. She raised her hands up and pointed it at the school gate’s wall and in front of the wall a wall made of earth rised up to thirty feet, she concentrate on raising the wall of earth, she had two hands raised up and the only thing on her mind was the wall and how to make it bigger.

Aphrodite had heard shadow started to bark, the high priestess in training looked to her dog to see shadow on her feet wagging her tail, lowering one hand she moved her body to stand on the side and looked seeing near the school building a small kitten running with something in it’s mouth she raised an eyebrow as a moment later a female fledgling ran after it “come back with my lipstick you crazy catshe yelled running after the cat. Ah yes Aphrodite had known that kitten well and of course she had found herself in that fledglings position once or twice herself. The kitten was a menace to society pouncing fledglings, stealing not from just them but even cat food too…she heard rumors that the kitten had chosen a new fledgling named raven and the kid named the kitten Simba “I would have named the kitten robbin hood….or clepto” she mumbled to herself and turned her attention back to the wall she raised her second hand again and tried to make the wall of earth grow bigger.

Aphrodite had held the wall for ten minutes, but still she couldn’t make it bigger eventually it had been too much and she fell to her knees panting out “thank you earth…you may now depart…please lower you’re guard like it was before our practice before you leave” she spoke panting. The glow around her hands had lingered for a moment.“this is not good enough….it’s not earth that is failing…it’s me…im still too weak” she spoke to shadow. The female dog whimpered and moved to Aphrodite and licked her arm. He young female smiled “It’s ok…ill be fine I think I just might have over done it…that’s all shadow” she spoke reassuringly to shadow she raised a hand to pet her dog, she was so surprised at how heavy her hand felt it was like she had been carrying weights all day.[/size]

[Kenny Hao]

Kenneth had started his day in a very amused, very hyper-like mood. He jumped out of his bed to run downstairs to see if anyone was in the main dorm still. Only one, a friend of his remained. Kyle Martin. He had himself propped up against the wall trying to act cool while drinking a coke. A smirk approached his face as he ran over to him and snatched the bottle away. It didn't seem Kyle was in the mood to wrestle because he just grabbed another bottle. Kenny only laughed, punched his shoulder, and chugged Kyles ex coke.

After finishing the coke, he changed his clothes. He had on black jeans that were somewhat tight and a green top with his usual flat billed hat. Kenny figured he could go to the park to see if Harper would be there, which, she usually was after school. The girl was fun to be around. Great flirt as well. He didn't feel like leaving the school grounds though.

"I'll just roam." He thought leaving the dormitory. Roaming is always better than nothing. He couldn't stand to lie around, do nothing, and be completely lazy. It wasn't like him. He liked adventure with the occasional surprises.

Kenny caught the scent of something. It was strong and did not smell good. He hoped the chiefs didn't burn something or make some nasty food. He'd be starving later. His stomach didn't want nothing that didn't taste good... nasty or tasteless food is just pointless. He decided to follow the smell around until he found the cause of it. It wasn't revolting just strange and...musty. The scent was clear. All over the halls... faded, new, and disappearing. He could tell he was getting close because the scent got stronger. His eyes shifted over to a red fledgling girl... He was positive she died a couple days ago... Ugh, she smelled disgusting. He would never figure out why some reds smell and some reds don't... Good or evil a bath is a bath...take one.

He didn't want to talk to her though. She looked pissed off and he'd rather not get hurt today by a new red that stunk.

Soon he found himself outside in the crisp air of the night. It smelled so much better out in the fresh air. Freshly cut grass and the flowers... girly but a lot better than the red fledgling.

“come back with my lipstick you crazy cat."

"Whaa..." Kenny looked around the corner of the building to see Aphrodite chasing Simba... Oh that cat. He couldn't help but chuckle. His chuckles where kept soft though so he wouldn't be spotted. He didn't want to be spotted yet.

“this is not good enough….it’s not earth that is failing…it’s me…im still too weak”

Aphrodite had fell to her knees and the pulsating green barrier left with Earth. He decided he should come out of hiding now to see if she was okay.

"Yo!" Smirking, he jugged over to Aphrodite, he hopped on the picnic table next to where she was. "You shouldn't wear yourself out. I like my Aphrodite conscious not unconscious." He smirked again at his wording. Of course she wasn't his. He just meant it in a 'you're my friend' way. "Besides, you're worrying Shadow like crazy... Gotta admit though. That thing you do is pretty damn wicked. All I can do is fix boo-boos and bleed." At that he laughed pretty hard. His powers were...odd! He could heal others but not himself and he could see the future but hurt himself in the process. What gives? He didn't mind though. They were Goddess given. He loved them no matter what...

Aphrodite had looked at shadow, she seemed to be worried. It was nice of shadow to worry about her, and she was proud to have shadow with her, she was a loyal and protective girl. The fledgling looked up surprised hearing Kenny’s voice. She smiled seeing his spirk, ah yes Kenny Hao a fifth former like her, he was a class mate and a lot of the girls Aphrodite knew had crushes on him, although Aphrodite did something just a little unethical and told the girls he was gay, lets face it Kenny was a sweet kid, but very conceited, the last thing Kenny needed was an ego boost making him think he is Nyx’s gift to women, beside the girls interested in Kenny were loose ho’s and rude cows, he deserved better.

When she first came to the house of night, Aphrodite found Kenny to be a quirky and seriously annoying young man, he as always on her mind and the very mention of him ticked her off, eventually she realized her feelings, but was too afraid to say something and after a while she grew out of those feelings, now they were better off as friends. “Merry meet Kenny” Aphrodite spoke with a soft smile as she watched him and that stupid smirk of his, to her it was so michivious she listened as he spoke calling her his, she didn’t know what to say he went on to complement her gifts and complain about his own, she scowled for a moment and with some effort lifted herself up she petted shaow again.

Walking towards Kenny she sat beside him “I have a duty of care to everyone, Kenny it’s my duty to protect everyone and in order to do that I must commune with earth and work with her in trying to protect the entire school when the time is right…and you should know by now Kenny never to Question Nyx’s gift and speak so badly of it.” she spoke going into high priestess in training mode. The young high priestess in training leaned on Kenny for a moment and shadow gave a disapproving growl at Aphrodite. She forced herself to sit up straight “You are Nyx’s prophet Kenny, you have the blessing to bring birth to a new and wonderful future, by helping fix the present…and you can heal the wounded…this too is impressive, you save lives Kenny…that’s heroic way cooler than anything I can do She added on softly.

Aphrodite looked down she felt tired [color=[pink]anyway Kenny, what can I do to help you tday…how are things going with your new roommate…I imagine, this must be a difficult situation for you. Having to share your room with someone new…whom you know nothing about.[/color]” she spoke softly trying to see if Kenny needed someone to speak to.[/size]

[Kenny Hao]

Kenny flashed her a huge smile trying to be adorable. "Merry meet as well." He said fisting his hand over his heart with a head bow. He lowered his hand and replaced it back to his lap. Aphrodite was the high priestess in training. He knew she would be an excellent one once she completes the change. He saw a lot of Estelle in her. A lot of respect for the two of them but he treated Aphrodite about the same as he did with any other student. They only difference was the respect.

"I know, I know." He said with amused clear in his musical voice. "Still, I think my gifts work weird." He gave a nonchalant shrug wanting to change to subject. He really didn't like talking about his visions. He couldn't even talk to his mentor about them. The only person he was ever able to talk about them calmly and comfortably was to Hayley Carter.

He ignored Shawdow's disapproving growl for now. He waited for Aphrodite to finish what she was saying before he talked to her dog. "Heroic? No. I'm just able to be somewhere at the right time. Nothing else." He finished his words in a rush. The conversation went to talking about his gifts after all. He sighed curing himself mentally for even mentioning his own. He should have just complemented hers and went on with something else.

Something else was good idea. "Shadow, am I not allowed to touch Aphrodite?" He asked facing the black dog. He smirked his usual smirk and poked her shoulder. He left his finger there. "I 'm not going to hurt her." He chuckled and lowered his finger.

"Ah, Raven." He begin. "I'm okay with my new roommate. Sweet kid. New but sweet. He's catching onto things pretty nicely. The only problem I have is the new room space. I'm surprised Denny hasn't made fun of my little bedroom space now." He chuckled. Denny and Kenny had always bickered and picked with each other but Denny hasn't said anything about Kenny's new space. He had thought about moving in Denny's only he didn't want Raven to think he didn't like him... Raven was a cool, sweet kid and Kenny felt like he should still be there for him.

Aphrodite had liked Kenny’s smile, it was a nice one she blushed when he placed his fist over his heart with a headbow it was something she could never get weird of, it felt strange being showed such great respect by others. She was just a fledgling and granted someday she would become Nyx’s high priestess, at the moment she was just a girl, a fledgling trying to survive the change. She sighed softly breathing in the nice fresh night air.

Shadow had watched Kenny when the male fledgling spoke, his voice was soft and sounded british, a lot of girls had british fetishes so in some aspect Kenny’s words should have been seductive. Aphrodite however had listened in depth to Kenny’s words instead of how they sounded. She thought about the best way to respond when her friend had started egging shadow on, she felt him poke her shoulder with his finger and shadow growled even louder in disapproval for a moment.

She listened finally as her curiousity for the new fledgling was answered. Kenny had thought Raven was sweet and by the sound of it catching on very well, she looked at Kenny something seemed a little off about it, she didn’t know he was cconsidering moving in with Denny, the high priestess in training sighed softly “I see, so this new fledgling is adapting well…that’s a relief, I would have offered counseling services to Young Raven, but I am afraid I am swamped as it is…With school, my duties as a high priestess in training along with my duties as leader of the Dark daughters…I am very much swamped…I struggle to find time for homework and for exercising my affinity…I am glad you’re there to look out for him Kenny” she spoke softly looking at Kenny.

Kenny question’s his gifts from Nyx…this is not a good sign, still I have never heard of anyone complaining about their goddess given gifts Kenny should know better.[/i] She thought to herself, Kenny-ray had decided enough was enough and he stood up and walked towards Kenny and pounced into his lap Puuring “Oh Kenny-ray you are such a suck up, he probably hasn’t got cat nap on you” she spoke leaning over to stroke Kenny-ray’s head. The young high priestess watched shadow as shadow moved closer and she leaned over to pet shadow’s head “Kenny…you may think you’re gifts from Nyx work in a perculiar fashion, but you will understand them someday after all you’re only still only a child…as am I, but I suggest until you feel comfortable with yourself…you should not make any changes at all…I had heard High priestess Estelle has taken it upon herself to become Raven’s Mentor…I think you too should become his friend…by doing so you will gain perspective and see the world in the eyes of a baby fledgling” she spoke as she leaned down and petted shadow again, the black dog wagged her tail feeling great and loving the pets[/size]

[Kenny Hao]

Kenny listened to Aphrodite's soft voice. His eyes shifted to her dog who so seemingly disapproved highly of Kenny's touch. He found it highly amusing although Shadow didn't. "I understand your busy. I'll take care of Raven. It shouldn't be to hard." He smiled at the high priestess in training knowing she had a very busy life at the moment. Anything to help her would suit him just fine. Plus, he liked her. Not sure if he liked, liked but he defiantly thought she was something else.

Kenny-ray jumped onto his lap with his purr box going. Kenny-ray's purr didn't sound like Tarzan's steam ship purr. This cats purr was nice and easy to listen too. "Oh hi, my other twin!" Kenny snickered stroking Aphrodite's cat. He liked Kenny-ray. He was his second favorite cat in the school. Tarzan, of course, came first and in third Simba. He was sure Kenny-ray wouldn't like it if Simba had a place in Kenny's heart so he kept it too himself.

"Aphrodite... You're amazing... and you're usually right. But. My gifts are just gifts. No better or worse than anyone else's. I can feel upset about them every now and again no biggie. I plan on becoming Raven's friends. We are roommates after all. I just don't feel like talking bout my gifts... to anyone. End of story." Kenny continued to pet the cat on his lap. He sighed knowing that last sentence of his come off rude and a little hateful sounding.

"Sorry. I just don't want to talk about them. Okay? I'd rather enjoy my day and have some fun." Kenny elbowed her arm lightly but quickly looked at Shadow to add. "No comments from the peanut gallery!" He chuckled.

Aphrodite watched as shadow tilted her head to the side confused about the peanut remark she giggled and then felt Kenny nudge her arm, she laughed feeling better by the moment especially when Kenny decided to listen to her advice when he told her that he would take care of raven for her, she smiled back at his smile he had a pretty smile, with Kenny ray sitting on Kenny’s lap puuring, she smiled as Kenny called the cat his other twin and she let out a giggle Kenny is such a great guy…he is so kind and sweet sure he is conceited and a little arrogant it works on him…Kenny-ray seems to like him, but Kenny-ray also seems to like pop tarts…shadow of course is protective of me, maybe if she got to know Kenny a little better she would relax[/i] she thought to herself

Aphrodite put her hand on kenny’s afro and petted him “good Kenny…whoops wrong Kenny” she joked and nudge her elbow into kenny’s arm playfully. Shadow gave a frustrated growl thinking her human was too trusting and laid on her belly, deciding to watch and bite Kenny if he tried anything on his poor innocent human.

Aphrodite listened to Kenny speak about his gift, she pouted as he sounded a little hash, she returned to petting his afro in hopes of comforting him “I understand if you don’t want to speak about it…it’s your choice Kenny, but I want you to know…If you ever want to talk to me about it…about anything. I am here for you Kenny…I am not only you’re high priestess in training…but I am you’re friend too ok and friends we talk to each other about anything…as long as it’s not Justin beiber”she spoke trying to lighten his mood. Leaning in she gave him a peck on the cheek and ruffled his hair

She smiled and pulled her hand away, she often thought being a high priestess was tough and time consuming, but she loved her life she loved leading the dark daughters and taking care of other students at times it was exhausting, but that was alright she was used to being the mommy figure, she couldn’t help worry about her peers and the younger students. There was one student in her year she was worried about particularly in the moment, a young fledgling named Teagan Vanderwelsh, Aphrodite had the impression she could definitely use some guidance either from herself or Estelle if worse came to worse Doctor Phil. Aphrodite thought about the options how she could approach teagan, but thinking of that was too much of a bother at the moment instead she chose to return her attention onto Kenny.

she watched him and her cat, she wondered how tarzan would react to this petting. “So Kenny…is there anything troubling you that you wish to talk about..remember I don’t judge...you can talk to me about anything” she spoke softly wondering if there was something she could help Kenny with.[/size]

He raised a brow as Aphrodite petted his 'fro. Other than a raised eyebrow, he kept the best poker face he possibly could. Women touching his hair had always, always been a huge turn on for him. It's a good thing she didn't tug his hair or he might have done something Shadow would bite his ankle for. The thought of that about made him burst in laughter. "Where's my treat?" Kenny joked giving her a grin.

She continued to pet his hair so he continued to have a poker face while trying to keep concentration on her words. He caught the most of what she said until she kissed his cheek while ruffling his hair. After that he just pulled a 'really?' face and looked down to her cat who was still perched on his lap. He pet Kenny-rea, scratching behind his ear every once in a while.

He racked through his brain to speak but nothing came to him. As soon as he gave up thinking something came to him, "If you'd quit touching my hair we might be able to hold a good conversation." He laughed with so many underlying things in his sentence. He wouldn't come out and say exactly what he meant and he didn't mean for her to figure it out either. They were friends and he should calm himself down because he was just a student and she was a priestess in training... A cute priestess but still a priestess in training.

"You just had to touch my hair.." He thought sighing. His head shook lightly at his thought and was still subconsciously petting Kenny-rea.

Unsure of whether Aphrodite was starting to feel awkward he said something else, because he was feeling awkward. "Thank you for being there. I think I'll deal with my visions myself and do some praying... If nothing changes I'll come talk to you." He gave her a smile sitting his hands on either side of him on the bench.

Aphrodite had no idea how much Kenny enjoyed someone petting his fro and she couldn’t tell any difference in his face, he probably felt annoyed, she smiled anyway and looked at Kenny ray sitting on Kenny’s waist, she was curious about why he suddenly burst into laughter and when he spoke about his treat she smiled, leave it to Kenny to be adorable, not that she would tell him that he was already conceited enough as it was.
Aphrodite sometimes worried about her friends, and what would happen to them if she was to reject the change or died somehow, would they be ok without me…who would take care of shadow or Kenny ray…or Aries…my baby brother…could I ask this of Estelle…no she has too much on her plate as it is…[/i] she thought to herself. Shadow had watched Aphrodite she knew that the girl was worried about things, it was just one of her dog senses she could sense Aphrodite had a lot of pressure on herself, which was one of the reasons why she was so protective of the female fledgling, she would watch Aphrodite’s vulnerable spots while the high priestess in training would cover the other areas.

Kenny ray was comfortable on Kenny’s lap and he had no intention of moving, after all he was a cat he could do whatever he wanted he could even walk on the kitchen counters if he wanted to and no one could do anything, the cat purred happily until he noticed his fledgling twin tuck his hands under his leg, the cat brought out his claws and sunk it into Kenny’s skin something Aphrodite had failed to notice “Oh im sorry Kenny I didn’t know you didn’t like having your fro petted. It won’t happen again.” she spoke in response to his remark sounding playful.

As Kenny thanked her she nodded her head and smiled “your very welcome Kenny, and as long as I am around…I will always be here for you…for everyone” she spoke with a smile looking at Kenny, But what if I am not around….what if something happens to me…who will take care of everyone…could I lay such burden on Kenny[/i] she thought to herself curiously. Looking down the teenage fledgling’s smile faded for a moment and it became serious. I could never give this duty…this task to anyone….i was given this task for a reason…because am capable of handling this…so I just got to make sure nothing happens to me.[/i] She thought to herself, shadow had seen the look of concern on her master’s face and she went closer getting on two feet she leaned in close to Aphrodite and licked her hand. Which brought Aphrodite to her senses, she looked at shadow and smiled “Hey there you…are you going to be friendly to Kenny” she asked playfully, to which shadow gave a dog like scoff and Aphrodite giggled for a moment “you wait shadow, when a male dog trys to be friends with you im gonna be all disapproving and over protective” Shadow rolled her eyes at that comment, and Aphrodite looked at Kenny, she wondered what thoughts went on in that perverted, conceited mind of his.[/size]

Kenny huffed a small sigh right before Kenny the cat sunk his claws into his leg. "You could have been nicer, you know. I don't mind petting you. You're lucky you didn't draw blood or Aphrodite would have had to put up with a blood lusting me." Kenny shook his head at the cat. He started petting the demanding cat once more with no mind to stop until Kenny-ray had enough petting. He already had to deal with Simba's claws.

"Like is one word for it." Kenny looked at Aphrodite with a smirk playing across his cheeks. Now bloodlust was on his mind after Aphrodite had played with his hair he found himself in a much more hyper mood. He forced himself to stay calm for the moment because his friend seemed to have something on her mind. He didn't want to upset or distract her from whatever might be going through that intelligent mind of hers.

With his free hand, he pulled out his Smart Phone to check for messages. He had put it on silent before leaving his room and completely forgot about having it. Eight text messages had come through with nothing but a bunch of 'heys'. Only one of his texts said, 'Meet me at the temple at 9am.'. That was an odd time to be meeting someone. He didn't answer any of them because he thought it would be rude to text while talking with a friend. He shoved the phone back into his pocket to focus on Aphrodite again.

"Shadow hates me." He chuckled listening to her talk about being to protective. It would be interesting to see Aphrodite keep away male dogs from Shadow. "I think she'd rip my head off if we kissed. She's small but would have a wolf's bite." He grinned at Shadow then gave Aphrodite a huge dorky smile.

Aphrodite looked away from Kenny and back to shadow, Kenny was scolding his cat twin and she smiled, she was sure she could trust him. “Kenny your being silly…Shadow doesn’t hate you…much” she spoke with a laugh at the end standing up she looked at Kenny. I must be nuts, but I think Kenny Is the only one who could do this…Teegan would probably use the position for power…take all the glory and prestige, but do none of the work…she may have the affinity for spirit…but she is still too much of a brat to understand the true meaning of spirit.[/i] she thought to herself.

Aphrodite stood up as shadow jumped back and sat where she was sitting previously, the young blond high priestess stepped in front of Kenny she smiled and petted his fro again even though he didn’t like it apparently. “Kenny…something is coming, I can feel it…it’s something huge ok. The fact is whatever is coming…I don’t know if I am going to survive it...you on the other hand…you’re Nyx’s prophet..she has blessed you with the gift of foresight…to prevent disaster and chaos…and blessed you with the power of Nyx’s love…when you heal someone Kenny you are bestowing Nyx’s love for them…you’re important…you’re the only one I can trust with this…the only one who is qualified for this…if something happens to me…protect them…in my place” she spoke softly pulling her hand from kenny’s fro. She looked at him seriously waiting for his answer.[/size]

Doesn't hate him... much. Kenny chuckled lightly. Right, the dog would rip his head off if he even said one thing out of the way to her master. At least Kenny the cat liked him well enough... He was his other twin after all. Kenny would steal him in a heart beat if he hadn't chose Aphrodite as his. Exaggeration of course, "I could never take Kenny away. As long as I can see my cat twin, I'm happy." He thought.

Aphrodite stood and his eyes went directly to her. He didn't pay attention to her petting his 'fro this time because of her expression and tone of voice. He listened carefully wanting to protest that nothing would happen to her... If something did he would see it! Nyx wouldn't let her high priestess in training die... it just didn't seem normal. He didn't even know of any rejecting the Change. Aphrodite looked perfectly healthy, she hadn't been coughing, or anything out of the way besides her current mood. He sighed lightly, biting his tongue to let her finish.

When she finished he thought about it a moment. Not thinking of if he'd protect the school but if something were to happen to her.... He sent a silent prayer to Nyx asking what to do. He didn't get anything back expect for a subtle 'follow your heart' feeling.

He took in a deep breath, "Aphrodite Cooper, I Kenneth Hao, Prophet of Nyx, promise to watch over the school if something were to happen to you. I will take on your job and fill in your place. I will do exactly as you would have. Let me promise carry to Nyx. So be it."

After his formal promise he sent a quiet prayer to Nyx asking to protect Aphrodite from whatever she thinks is going to happen to her.

He didn't say anything else... Not knowing what to say, he waited for her to talk
