aint no secret
i didnt get these scars falling over in church
anna shrugged. there was just a few more minutes of her equestrian studies class left. she had developed somewhat of a connection with a horse name apedille, and had actually taken her out on a ride today. it went pretty smoothly, and according to her behavior, apedille was getting used to anna's scent. she had proven herself to the horse, enough for apedille to know that she wasn't a predator. with a yawn, she tossed the brush she had been using back into the tack room and made her way out of the barn. leaving early wasn't really a big deal to the teacher, especially considering that this was equestrian studies and most students wanted to freshen up a bit afterword. luckily, anna had a gap in her schedule, giving her some time before her next class. glancing around she saw some other fledglings walking the grounds. she didn't recognize any of them, and just kept on walking. as soon as she arrived at her dorm, she tore her clothes off and jumped in the shower.
steam spewed through the crack underneath the bathroom door, and inside, there was the steady sound of water and a gentle hum. every once in awhile the water would make a louder pattering sound, as if anna was rinsing out her hair. abruptly, the water stopped and almost immediately the door swung open. a cloud of steam rolled out and evaporated as she emerged. a girl, though she had the figure of a woman. anna looked older than she actually was, but only slightly. there was a towel wrapped tightly around her body, and her hair hung heavily. making her way to her closet, she began to rummage around. she found a simple, white v neck that fit her loosely and a pair of old, distressed jeans. anna dropped the towel, and slipped into the clothes before pulling on a pair of moccasins. slippers were always comforting. anna preferred not to wear shoes at all, so they were somewhat of a compromise. picking up the towel, she tossed it into the bathroom and then briefly shook out any loose water in her hair. she always let her hair dry naturally, using hair dryers was one of her least favorite things to do - considering her sensitive hearing. with a huff, she headed out the door.
anna was quite lucky. not all fledglings had gaps in their schedule, but those who did usually took advantage of it. studying, napping, showering, etc. glancing at the clock as she arrived downstairs, she saw that she still had some time before her next class. it was one that she had just gotten switched into. she was in a regular self defense class for a few days, until the teachers realized that she was a bit too advanced for that - and later realized that she was a werecat. the teacher that had set up her schedule before seemed to be having an off day, week even, so anna decided against giving her a hard time about it. anna snatched an apple off of the counter and set off on her way. a breeze cooled her skin as she reached the outdoors, and she smirked. the cold didn't bother her much, though it was refreshing. sooner than later, she arrived at what seemed to be a gym for all of the fledglings. it wasn't exactly a regular gym, more like just a large room with doors that lead to other rooms with titles such as fencing and aerobics. anna slipped inside and glanced around, taking the last bites of her apple. to the wall farthest from her there was a garbage can, and so she took a stroll over, tossing what was left of the apple into it. she paused, alert. for a second she could have swore that she heard footsteps - but she dismissed the thought, knowing that she would have heard more than what she thought she heard if there was someone around. either that, or they had an affinity for air. or for being silent. or something. anna sighed, before turning and sitting against the wall. she started to question whether or not she was even in the right place, or if she was just early.
