Maria Saw something shocking in the way the boy reacted, protective, worry, love. Those things were not what she expected to see from anyone especially a boy. Not even Night's own half brother would ever display such emotions for her. Kai hated Artemis and anything that had to do with her, especially Night. Though she was never given details about what he had done Maria easily assumed it was more than the usual brotherly teasing that was expected with siblings. But he was a half sibling who was several years older than Night. Maria eyed the boy with a little less harsh aura around her. "How did you two meet and start dating?" She asked trying to remain calm at the information about him being Night's boyfriend. She needed to stay in an open minded atmosphere so not to cause any distress on her niece in the strange unconscious condition she was currently in. "And i have no idea, for the record, why she passed out." She said leaning and brushing a hand along her forehead and pushing the long streaked bangs to the side, revealing her gentle face.

Seamus relaxed as he saw that the woman had done the same but still kept himself ready in case he said anything she didn't want to hear. "I met her at the club she works in. I had gotten myself into a fight and then went over to talk to her afterwards. I messed up, ended up making her walk away instead of actually holding a conversation." He had purposefully missed out the part about Night being slugged due to it being interpreted that Shay had caused it. Which he kind of had. "I followed her out to try to talk to her a bit more and she ended up almost killing me accidentally. She bit me to stem the bleeding which ended up leaving both of us with an Imprint. We ended up hanging out for a bit after that and we decided that we should go out." The Scot shrugged. "Dunno if you wanted to hear more but that's pretty much how it went."
He sighed then looked down at Night again when her aunt mentioned that she didn't know why the girl had become ill. "I think it's your turn to answer a few questions, love." He looked back up Maria. ""Why are you here? As far as I can tell from Night's reaction to you, she hasn't seen you in years. Why are you visiting now?"

Night squirmed in her mother's arms as both she and her aunt giggled and grinned at the little girl. It didn't take long for Night's disposition to change as Artemis held her tenderly and lovingly. "I feel like I've missed something funny..." A young white haired half-Brit, half-Jap mixed gentleman said as he turned a bushy corner to find the two most important girls in his life and his sister in law smiling and giggling.
"Yuki..." Artemis said lovingly to her husband as he walked closer to her and their daughter.
"Airi are you bullying her? Or saving her from her mean old aunt Ria?" Yukito Tenjo teased as he reached for Night.
Maria rolled her eyes and ignored his comment. "I wasn't bullying my precious niece... merely joining in on the game and helping Artemis to find her." She scuffed at the young man.
"They were double teaming me!" Night huffed as she reached for her father. "They cheated! Mommy was trying to find me and Auntie Ria cheated and helped her!"
The memory was so sweet and innocent and Night missed it. The feeling of a good memory instead of the the nightmarish realities of her past she didn't want to remember but always surfaced first.

"I'm sure she was surprised but not enough to pass out like that." Maria answered sitting on the bench that was right next to the one Night was laid down on. "I'm here because I was worried. I had a vision that had me terrified for Night." The military officer said with a small quiver in her voice. "I haven't seen her in years so with enough worries I needed to come to this mentally straining country." She sighed as she saw Night's sleeping face, not a single expression of pain evident as of yet which did two things internally to Maria. One made her feel relief that whatever had caused her to pass out wasn't causing her mental turmoil. However on the other hand she was worried to know why she wasn't upset in her slumber. Has this boy really affected her so much? Is he the reason she seems so calm and relaxed? The thoughts swam through her mind as she looked back and forth from Night to Seamus.
"You are right on the subject of how you met being rather depressing information... but Night will probably be upset if she finds out you told me without her consent." Maria warned knowing that her finding out things without Night's knowledge when the knowledge involved Night was always a bad thing.

"Well, I haven't known her that long but she does seem to be like that." Seamus sighed and rubbed at his face to try and think of what might have been wrong with Night when a familiar voice came into his head.
Who the hell's she?
Night's aunt. Where have you been since the robber incident?
Right here. It's not as if I can go anywhere else, is it?
I don't even know who or what you are, how am I supposed to know?
The voice seemed to pause for a second. Ever heard of the Asgard?
Yeah, they're the figures of Viking religion, mostly warriors but then you get oddities like a 5-legged horse. Why?
I may have some... Relation to certain members of the Asgard.
But the Asgard are just a myth, how can you be related to them?
Well, everyone thinks that Nyx is a myth, but she exists, doesn't she?
Touché
"If you don't mind me asking, what was it that you saw in the vision? If there's anything that I might be able to help with..." He wasn't sure on how ton continue, given that he didn't really know how to fight but-
I do.
Seriously, do you know when to shut the hell up?
...No.
Thought not.
Thinking that he might try to lighten the mood a little, Shay said to Maria, "Also, how is this country mentally straining? It's not as if the majority of the people can't be ignored."

Night's dream, her memory was kind and sweet. But it began to fade. Instead of turning into a nightmare like her memories usually did, the memory turned into an actual dream. She was her current self and was walking down a long hallway. Scottish decor. It wasn't somewhere she'd been or even seen before but she could tell what the decor was. Down the long dark hallway she saw one door, cracked with little light coming from it. A dimmed fire light flickering from inside the room. The red vampyre continued slowly down the unknown corridor. She started to hear voices.
Seriously, do you know when to shut the hell up? She heard, recognizing the voice as Shay's. The other voice was vaguely familiar, very vaguely.
...No. The voice was eerie. She couldn't remember quite where she'd heard it from but she had heard it before.
Night slowed her pace as she walked down the hall and stopped when she was against the wall next to the crack. Peering inside she saw Shay standing by the fire place talking into the shadows, to the voice. What is going on? She whispered in the dream. It looked like some old study room. Was Shay talking to his father maybe? Is this one of his memories? Night wondered unsure of what was going on. She felt a slight squeeze to her hand though nothing was near her to do that. She was feeling lost in this fantasy. Knowing nothing about where she was or why, or even what was going on outside her head, if her head was even where she currently was.

Maria closed her eyes and gave a long hard thought to the vision she had before.
The officer had come home from a routine examination of her ships crew and was utterly exhausted. Maria had dropped down onto her bed, uniform and all, and fell asleep almost on impact of the fancy sheets. Then it started...
A sweet voice had come through the phone, full of worry and sadness. Maria didn't know the voice but she could hear the sorrow. "Are you Night's aunt?" the woman's voice asked.
"Who is this and how do you know Night? Is she alright? Where is she?" Maria asked commandingly as she always did when she got impatient.
"My name is Estelle Josephine, I'm the high priestess at the Chicago House of Night. Your niece is a dear friend to my daughter and many of my students. However..." The voice started saying before gasping and trying to hold back her sobs. "I-I'm sorry to inform you... oh goddess I'm so sorry..." The voice said before the connection ended with a disconnection tone.
The usually cold and strong as stone navel officer awoke with several layers of sweat and tears between her uniform she had fallen asleep in and her flesh.
Maria opened her eyes and fought the urge to cry again before she saw the werecat boy, Seamus squeezed Night's hand worriedly. She wasn't sure if it was because of how Night was right now, or what was going on in his own head or of what her vision was about. "In the vision I had gotten a long distance tearful call from a woman named Estelle Josephine but before she could tell me what was going on the phone disconnected and I had woke up."

Seamus listened patiently to what Maria said about her vision and was able to see that the confession had upset the woman. He replied reassuringly, "Thank you. I might be able to-"
Seamus?
What?
She's in here.
Suddenly he was in a dimly lit room with only a roaring fireplace for illumination and a shadow for company. In the middle of the room was an ornate leather sofa facing towards the fire and along the walls were paintings, including a number of which that portrayed scenes from Nordic myth. He turned to the corner of the room that he instinctively knew that the other personality was standing in and said, "Where is thi-" Then he realised.
The shadowed man swirled a glass of scotch in his hand and replied, "I pulled it from your memory. I thought it would be as good a place as any to have a conversation, considering the nature of the surroundings. But that's beside the point." He stepped out of the shadows slightly, revealing a expensive looking suit that, when viewed in the right light, revealed a swirling mass of serpents curled around each other, but still kept his face in shadows. "Since I first revealed myself to you, you have been constantly asking who or what I was. Well, I think now would be a good time for the answer to that. My name is Jormungandr, or the Midgard Serpent, if you don't like mouthfuls. I am an Asgard, the son of Loki and brother to Hel and Fenris. The Norse religion portrays me as a giant serpent, continuously eating my own tail to keep the world spinning, whereas in reality I am a great warlock, powerful enough to be able to keep this universe and a number of the others stable." He smirked. "Or, I used to be that powerful."
Seamus looked a the Asgard, astounded by his confession. "What the hell are you doing inside me?"
Jormungandr hung his head, or at least it looked like he did. "Because I am one of the last of my race. Around two hundred years ago the Asgard were almost wiped out. Before we were killed, me and my sister along with a number of others decided to become spirits, detached from our own realm and limited to this one, forced to possess others to survive. But one thing is for certain." He pointed towards the door. "She is not meant to be here."
Seamus turned towards the door and saw the last person he expected to be in here. "Night?! How did you... Why are you..."

Night was listening in on the conversation. She was shocked, she knew of the Asgard and Nordic legends but she was unaware about the spiritual transition. Night had thought that they had fallen into the elements and the past. Had died except for simple fables and folk lore.
The Nordic entity pointed towards the door. "She is not meant to be here." He said directed from the shadows along the light from the fire toward Night. She took a scared step away from the door.
Seamus turned towards the door and apparently saw Night who was the last person he expected to be in here. "Night?! How did you... Why are you..." She took another step back from the door.
"I-I don't know..." She whispered, scared about the feeling the entity was emanating. It was the same scary and cold hateful feeling Kai had given off whenever he tormented her, when he had finally snapped and worst after they had died. "I-I'm sorry...." She said turning and running down the dark hall as the door started opening more without any sight of someone opening it wider.
She didn't know where she was or where her feet lead her. But the corridors got darker and darker until finally a door that lead her to the outside opened. it was early morning, foggy. The outside had lead to what looked like it was once a trail through the dead woods with overgrown deathly weeds, vines, grass covering the dirt path. She ran too it but as she ran through it started to get lighter and lighter out. Her surroundings were more lively and nice as the trail started changing from dirt to sand beneath her feet.
The trees began thinning out as there were less dirt and more sand until the woods turned to a meadow area then to a beach where he saw a couple and a small child. They were trying to get to the baby boy as the wind and the waves tossed and turned every which way. Night felt like she couldn't breath as if she were in the child's place, drowning gasping for air and she was about to drop to her knees trying to cough up the water that wasn't in her throat when she felt another squeeze to her hand.
This time she was pulled out of the mental trap. Panting like wild, coughing, gasping for the air she felt she didn't have enough of as she sat up and rolled off the bench onto the ground. Eyes wide in fear, heart thumping like an earthquake setting a new record on the Richter scale. "Oh goddess... oh Shay... " She panted, bloodied tears streaming down her face as rapidly as her gasps were.

When Night came springing up and rolled off of the bench on to the ground on all fours breathing heavily as if she had been choked Maria pushed aside her fears and worries over her vision. This right now was feeling much worst because Maria, who'd have several worry filled dreams about Night rarely had a vision but the one she had felt so real she couldn't ignore it. Her niece on the other hand, if she had dreamed up something other than memories, was usually a vision and they rarely didn't come true.
"Night!" She exclaimed trying to get on the other side of her streak haired niece from the Scottish boy. "What's wrong? Are you OK?" She bombarded the questions holding back the quiver in her voice the weakness and worry. It wasn't a surprise to see the blood coming from Night's eyes. Anytime the girl had cried after her parents deaths, which was very rare due to her broken heart she never showed anyone her tears. Maria remembered some of the things that were said at the funeral at Night's expense. She tried to think rationally and give Night room to breath as the red vampyre gasped and tried to calm herself with barely any luck. Whatever she saw, whatever woke her to be like this, whatever put her in this condition in the first place couldn't be good. Oh Nyx what is going on? The navel officer thought in fear of things to come.

Seamus swore under his breath and sprinted after Night through the halls of his imaginary home and thought, Why the hell did you scare her, Jormun?
I didn't mean to. I was surprised at how easily she had gotten past the blocks I put up between your mind and hers.
Why would you do that?
Because I wanted to talk to you in private. The Imprint you have with her is troublesome in that it doesn't allow me to make something like this often. The past hosts weren't as you are, meaning that I was able to converse with them like this whenever I wanted, but with you I am only able to do this every so often.
Shay found himself on a path shaded by trees, with Night at the end of it and him at the beginning. He called out, "Night!" And started running a bit faster, barely noticing that the path was turning from soil to sand. He finally got to her and said in between gulps of air, "Night, I am so, so sorry about that." He went to hug the girl but before he could touch her she disappeared suddenly and left the werecat standing on his own apart from a pair of people down on the beach below him. "Oh hell..." The man had just pulled a spluttering, crying child out of the sea and held him close to his chest. The man ran over to the woman with him and she immediately took the crying child into her arms and started whispering soothingly to him with tears in her own eyes. "Those are..."
Your parents. The house wasn't the only thing I pulled from your memory.
Tears started to roll down Shay's face as he watched and he asked the air, "Why is that memory here?"
I choose memories, but sometimes those memories bring with them more memories. I'm sorry.[/color]
Seamus was back in the real world again and saw that Night had been affected worse by the entire affair than he had been, so he ran over to her and ignored her aunt as he knelt down next to her and pulled her into an embrace, not wanting her to see that he was crying too, albeit with a bit less blood involved. The young werecat stroked Night's hair, as his mother had so many time when he had been upset as a child, and and said to her gently, "I am so sorry, Night. I am so, so sorry."
Tell her that-
"Jormun's sorry too. He didn't mean to snap at you like that." Shay kissed his girlfriend on the top of her head. "I'm just... Sorry."

Night was still gasping when Shay had snapped out of his mind and held her. She felt his tears fall on to her shoulders as his warmth surrounded her as her bloodied tears started to slow down but still ran and began to seep into his shirt. "T-this... has been... a strange first date..." She tried to laugh to clear her tears. "I'm so sorry Shay... that must have been terrible, especially to be able to remember something that long ago." Night said taking deep breaths to calm down. It was so strange. How could I have gone into his past? I felt like I had been in his place at that time. Oh Goddess please don't ever let Shay see my nightmares, to feel like I did... please. She prayed with all her heart. Night pulled her hands to her eyes as Shay held her to wipe the blood. "I'm sorry about invading your memories... I didn't mean too. And..." She said pulling a little ways out of the embrace. "I'm sorry for the bloodied shirt." She said laughing a bit as she kept trying to clean up the tears.

Maria watched how Shay had comforted her. But she also wondered what he was talking about. "If we could I'd like to speak to Estelle Josephine about some things." The military officer said trying to help Night up while she was still skeptical about Shay and what had just happened. A part of her wanted to believe he would be good for her and to her and that Night could live happily. On the other hand he was a boy and all boys and men would hurt her. He was a werecat and a relationship between them, an imprint between them was frowned upon in their world. Protector was understandable but lover and consort was not what they should be. The only thing that could make their relationship worst would be if this boy was assigned someone to protect other than Night. She thought hoping to see the High Priestess as soon as she could to figure out what she could from this Estelle Josephine she had dreamed about. Hoping that she could give some insight about how Night had been doing in the community. Maria could only hope that this priestess could help and knew what was going on or if she knew of what could happen.

Seamus laughed through his crying then said to Night, "Don't worry about it, lass, I've got plenty more of these." He helped her stand up then said to Maria, "We needed to speak to the priestess about something anyway. You could come with us, if you'd like." In all honesty, considering how icey the woman had been with him previously, the werecat did not want the woman to come with them to the House, but if she was set on trying to protect her niece from whatever it was that might hurt her, then he would sure as hell make sure she was near.
You know, this could go very badly for you.
I know, but if it does, you can always kick some arses to get us out of it, can't you?
Yes, but it would be better if you didn't get into trouble in the first place, would it?
Why do we keep asking rhetorical questions?
No bloody clue.
Bloody? That's a word I've never heard you say before.
Well you better get bloody used to it.
Seamus growled internally then realised that the growl hadn't been internal. He quickly covered it up by asking Night gently, "Do you want to go home now or are you okay for a bit longer out?"

Night stood up with Shay holding her. "I think home would be good about now." She said still shaken up by what she had saw, what she had felt from Shay's mind and memories. "And tomorrow we have defiantly got to go see Zain and Estelle about the Asgard that's trying to use you.
Night heard a scuff from her aunt and heard the thing she knew was going to happened the moment Maria arrived and saw her werecat lover. "He's not coming with you."
Night could tell that Shay didn't want to her aunt to hate him completely and utterly so she knew he would do just that and return to the House of Night dorm's to his own bed instead of sharing one with Night. The way home was quiet even though she knew her aunt had questions about Shay even if Shay had possibly already answered them. It bothered her that her beloved werecat had to walk home by himself with whatever was going on, was going. She didn't like this but perhaps the day would go by quicker the sooner she got home. But that would be doubtful since her aunt would be staying in the guest room.
